Mondi Paper

Mondi Paper initially used Snakes & Hazards as a risk awareness program at their Merebank Paper Mill. We integrated the methodology into their current risk management program to enhance its effectiveness. We introduced our program board and hazard tags to each operation section, followed by facilitators’ training, and handed over the program after three months on site.

Two years later, the site received a mandate from Mondi Group to introduce an Australian-made behavioral-based safety engagement initiative to be implemented across the Mondi Group.

Their initiative focused on Workplace Positives (what’s going well), Workplace Negatives (improvement opportunities), Headspace (the individual’s mindset), and Group space (the impact of group interactions on workplace culture).

The management team did not want to lose the momentum of the established program. Collaborating with the team, we seamlessly incorporated the Mondi Group initiative into Snakes & Hazards and introduced it to employees as a revision. It was a perfect fit!

The results were an updated program that created unity in the team on workplace hazards and associated risks and a clear understanding of the effect that individual and group interactions have and how that impacts workplace culture.
