Omnia Fertilizer

Omnia Fertilizer implemented Snakes & Hazards across their chemical manufacturing and agriculture business units.

Their chemical business consists of a fertilizer manufacturing plant based in Sasolburg with a highly skilled workforce. The agriculture business units, distributed throughout South Africa and Zimbabwe, consist of a core team and a large amount of unskilled casual labour.

For the plant rollout, we used Snakes & Hazards to enhance their Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) system to create a visual representation of risk in the workplace, which promoted discussion and awareness in the sections and ensured that risks were identified were mitigated.

We produce three high-impact films of actual incidents on the plant to bring home the message. Each film was used to introduce one of the hazard categories of the program.

For the agricultural units where employees did not have access to technology, we introduced our discussion board and tagging process to create daily awareness with a strong focus on how employees interact with workplace risk.
